While not victorious this time, no one should have been surprised, based on the dominance of one-party government in the State of Maryland. As it says in the Bible, "I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong...but time and chance happeneth to them all." In such manner, the Democrats have maintained constant control of Maryland's government, but "to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven." It is for us to remember what the true meaning of JUSTICE is, and to remember that "God will judge both the righteous and the wicked..." We must be strong and persevere so that the Conservative principles of faith and family, the Capitalist values of fiscal responsibility and a fundamental right to Property, and the Constitutional guarantees of Life, Liberty, and Property can someday be appreciated by those whose minds are presently closed to or distracted from them by what our founders called "sects, factions, and interests." With God's grace, I will remain in the fight and return in the future to defend our rights and guard against those who would deprive us of both Justice and Liberty. Look for me in the whirlwind; there I will be, "Fighting for Freedom." I hope you will join me.

*** WARNING AGAINST EARLY VOTING ***
Once again, the politicians in power have figured out how to hold onto power by using the media to trick the People into giving up their rights. First, an extremely late primary in mid-September forced a very short general election campaign. In places like Prince George's County, it has been assumed that the election is already over, as special interest money poured into races for the primaries where as many as 10 people vied for a County Council seat, meanwhile a Senate Seat held by an incumbent that has been INDICTED has gone uncontested. Similarly, incumbents want you to rush out and vote almost 2 weeks ahead of election day so that challengers cannot reach voters with ads to inform them of the dirty tricks the incumbents have been up to, whether it's voting themselves a payraise during this economic recession, or attempting to destroy freedom of speech through mock debates and frivolous amendments to the Constitution. Furthermore, the down-ballot candidates and the ballot initiatives go unresearched by voters who only vote the top of the ticket and simply vote party-line. We are abdicating our right to self-government when we do this. We are allowing others to rule us, dictate what our lives will be like, and take our votes for granted rather than acknowledging that "We the People" are sovereign. Signs that tell the President, "We've got your back..." completely neglect the fact that he doesn't have ours. Whether it's his willingness to expand gay marriage, encourage homosexuality in the military, support illegal immigration, or encourage federal funds being used for abortion (against the will and consciences of taxpayers) he has done far more to destroy the Black Community than uplift it. If you truly believe that you are "Kings and Queens," then don't let others rule over you. Research the issues thoroughly, then vote on November 2nd.

Across the country and all throughout the State, the issue of Illegal Immigration is rising to a critical pressure point. On this date, I travelled to Virginia Beach where my first skipper, Kenny Golden, is running for Congress in Virginia's 2nd District. He held a very informative townhall with a mixed-race crowd that revealed the issue behind Illegal Immigration is not one of race or spoken language, but one of National Security. As I often point out, 4 members of the "Fort Dix Six" terror plot were illegal aliens. Similarly, Illegal Aliens are wreaking havoc on our communities, especially in Maryland which has allowed many of its neighborhoods to become sanctuary cities, receiving money from special-interest groups, the government, and foreign nations to encourage illegal immigrants to settle there. It is extremely alarming that the Federal Government is so interested in imposing its coercive will upon the States and the People by bringing lawsuits against those who seek to protect themselves from invasion (According to Article I, Section 10, a Constitutional Right of a State) that the Federal Government is failing to secure our borders and keep our streets and our citizens safe from actual terrorists, gangs, and the enemies of the United States. The rationale is simple: Democrats (who despise our Constitution and the Republic it established) seek to inject millions of voters into the system by granting illegal aliens amnesty, the vast majority of whom will accept the mindset of vicarious victimhood and perpetual poverty that lay the groundwork for a desire for social justice (vengeance.) If the people always see themselves as suffering, they will gladly vote to oust & persecute those whom they are told are causing the suffering--capitalists.
I was also glad to see several townhalls on Illegal Immigration being held in Maryland by gubernatorial candidate Brian Murphy. He received the support of Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins, and the endorsement of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. His conservative views were frowned upon by many Republicans (yes Republicans), but I was very glad to see someone standing up for the safety of our neighborhoods, smart economic policy, and giving such a strong voice to Conservatism in Maryland. The Democrats have engaged in a War on wealth, and they are having great success. It is up to us to look to our own safety and security, enforce our laws, and insist on a prosperous future for ourselves and our children.

Chestertown Tea Party
In the spirit of the Tea Parties, I attended this event on Memorial Day Weekend. The parade led to the dock where I was surprised to encounter current Governor, Martin O'Malley & Lt. Governor Anthony Brown. Gov. O'Malley had recently commented that he supported Civil Unions for gay couples over Gay Marriage. I confronted him over his sincerity, and asked if he would commit to NOT signing Gay Marriage into law if such a bill was passed. In response, O'Malley said that, "If a bill for either one crosses [his] desk, [he'd] sign it." People of Maryland, this is your Governor--the leader of your State. If you want to preserve marriage as a religious institution, and not a way for government to indoctrinate society to accept things that go against our faith, we have to change how we vote. Please wake up. Please take action. And PLEASE STOP letting the Democrats (Progressives) take your votes for granted. Ask for "...at once, a better government."
In response to British Parliament's closing of the port of Boston, the citizens of Chestertown, Maryland met in May of 1774 and set forth "Resolves" forbidding importing, selling, or consuming tea in Chestertown. According to local legend, residents then gathered at the town center, marched down High Street to the brigantine Geddes, which was anchored in the Chester River, and tossed her cargo of tea overboard. The annual reenactment of that event is the centerpiece of the Chestertown Tea Party Festival.

Today, General Motors (GM) announced that it repaid the $6.7 Billion loan back to the government "with interest," fully "five years ahead of schedule." The news media has made great fanfare out of this event, as a sign that the nation's largest automaker was recovering and had pulled out of the economic downturn. However, there is a problem with all of this. Either General Motors and the media have a reason to lie to the American public, or the Government just thinks we're all idiots. It is important to remember that in October 2008, General Motors and Chrysler received $13.4 billion, with over $9 billion going to GM. Then, in March, there was a second bailout where as much as $16 billion went to GM. General Motors has reported a financial loss for the past two years, so how is it remotely possible that paying $6.7 billion on a $25 billion loan counts as paying off your debt? While the true story is a lot more complex (some reports say that GM owes the government as much as $45 billion) the important thing to realize is the Government hopes you will fall for this charade. Meanwhile, the Federal Government has seized a controlling 61% interest in GM stock. Still, President Obama claims that he is not a socialist and believes in capitalism. It is clear we are being taken for fools. The government will do the same thing with the industries that move our economy as it has done with Social Security, Medicare, and the Nation's Economy--leave them drained and empty. If you are a fan of Communism, your dream is coming true. But if you do not support the United States becoming a socialist nation, then as Bob Marley says, Don't let 'em fool ya!"

The Los Angeles City Council voted to boycott Arizona over its recent law which allows its officers to assist in the enforcement of federal immigration laws. By the standards of the political Left, Arizona should not be able to uphold immigration laws the Federal Goverment is failing to enforce because it is a Federal and not a State responsibility. By this same standard, however, L.A. is in equal violation of the oft-misused Commerce Clause, which says that regulating Commerce among the several States is also a Federal responsibility, (not one delegated to the States or the People.) If the Congress does not forbid trade with Arizona, it is a violation of the Constitution for L.A. to dictate otherwise. Furthermore, the L.A. City Council is also in violation of Article I, section 10 of the Constitution forbidding Agreements and Compacts between States without Congressional approval. Being that this is a Case of diversity in which a State is a party, this also falls under the original jurisdiction of the Supreme Court in accordance with Article III, and the city of Los Angeles should be tried for violating the rights of Arizona. Los Angeles may also be violating numerous attainder laws by declaring all Arizona businesses guilty for an act they did not commit. We must also remember that Arizona is a member of the perpetual union known as the United States, each having pledged to "bind themselves to assist each other against all force or attacks made by reason of...trade (or any other pretense whatever)," and as such, all other States are bound to come to the aid and the common defense of Arizona. This issue will reveal in its own time who is loyal to the United States, and who are their enemies. And for what amount to economic sanctions levied by the city of Los Angeles against a sovereign State, Los Angeles the District of Columbia, and any other municipalities which enact similar statutes are levying war against the United States, which fits the Article III definition of TREASON.

Talmadge X Hayer, the only person to admit responsibility for the murder of Malcolm X, was released from prison on parole. His release makes one thing clear: if you kill a conservative, you will go free. This can be seen by looking at our conservative Presidents and other leaders. When they were shot or killed, their assassins have gotten off completely, or have received light sentences. Justice has clearly not been served when the most outspoken conservative voice of the Civil Rights era can be silenced, and his attackers go free.
At the same time, the very founding of the United States is under attack, as Spaniards and their descendants who hate the United States come into this country illegally, bring upon gang warfare in the most violent forms, torture our senior citizens by burning them alive, murder Black students execution-style, and paint Nazi Swastikas on our government buildings using refried beans. While all such criminal acts should be punished to the full extent of the law, again the media and the Progressives in Congress excuse these actions as "social justice." These people who are supposed to guard our freedoms would prefer instead to undo everything it means to be the United States and destroy the Constitution. They despise the founding fathers and are using every tool at their disposal to destroy this nation's success.
These events are only possible because the citizenry is asleep. We are hoping that the trouble will pass and that things will miraculously get better. But they will not unless you get up off the sofa and do something about it. Blacks have been coached by Progressives to defend illegal immigration, even though it destroys our own communities. The idea of a "black-brown coalition" has been foisted upon us so that we fail to look out for our communities' & our families' best interests. A Pan-Hispanic identity has been foisted upon Latinos so that they identify as victims of those who created the United States without examining why they speak Spanish in the first place. The time is now or never to fight for freedom. If you believe as I do that the republic is in danger, then please help me to defend it. If you hate the United States and our Constitution, then may God have mercy on us all, as we are "a house divided."

Following the Supreme Court ruling on Citizens United v. FEC which overturned portions of McCain-Feingold which prohibited campaign contributions by corporations, unions, & other groups to advocacy pieces supporting or opposing political candidates, Congresswoman Edwards (MD-4) took the position that the Constitution itself must be amended since the Supreme Court upheld the 1st Amendment which forbids Congressional Laws abridging freedom of speech. This issue has been misrepresented by the Democrats who seek to stifle free speech, as both Ms. Edwards and Congressman Chris Van Hollen (MD-8) have tried to present the ruling as allowing corporations to donate directly to political candidates, which is not the case. Van Hollen has gone further to engage in satirical debates with a company that he claims is running for Congress, meanwhile ignoring debates with his real opponents. When I addressed this issue in a Forum with Donna Edwards, she ignored the issue and failed to defend her own freedom-killing amendment. While corporations & unions certainly are not "persons" deserving of the same Constitutional rights as U.S. citizens, neither are unions or media organizations which constantly engage in constitutionally-protected speech & advocate for or against certain candidates & their causes. These groups are all collections of people, and should be afforded the same rights under the 1st Amendment. Donations to political campaigns should all be treated separately and not "bundled," so that voters know who is contributing to a given candidate's campaign, but this is not cause to call for frivolous amendments to the Constitution. When President Obama used the State of the Union to attack the Supreme Court for its decision, he showed a lack of decorum and disrespected the entire court. The court is not inferior to the President. His inexperience, disrespect, and juvenile handling of his position shows he is not suited to be the leader of a Free people.

Today is Constitution Day! On September 17, 1787, thirty-nine of our Founding Fathers concluded the Constitutional Convention which gave us this legal document which is the Supreme Law of the Land for the United Sates of America to this day. Although it has repeatedly come under assault by the enemies of Freedom, I am here to fight for it and help this nation live up to its stated creed, to "Establish Justice..." as well as "...to Preserve the Blessings of Liberty to Ourselves and our Posterity." We must be ever vigilant against those who would enslave us and our children to take these guarantees away.
On September 12, 2009 between one and two million people descended on the U.S. Capitol as an act of solidarity in rememberance of the tragedy of 9/11, and to renew our resolve to protect the Freedoms so cherished by Americans over the past 222 years. Congresswoman Donna Edwards (MD-4) answers a question about the Constitution and states there are "responsibilities that government has to its citizenry that are not spelled out...in the Constitution." Is this how she interprets the Supreme Law of the Land? As a document where powers can be read in that are not "spelled out" by its authors? Is this how we should interpret all our laws? Hundreds of Thousands of people gathered all across the nation to celebrate Independence Day in a show of patriotism and to protest the reckless, excessive spending being done by the nation's leaders in Washington, DC. As the original American Revolution was fought over the issue of unjust taxes, today are we enjoined again in a struggle against a tyrannical government bent on taxing us to death. Neither our Senators, our Representatives in Congress, nor the President has listened to us, passing numerous "stimulus" bills which have failed to create jobs, have destroyed prosperity, and have increased the tax burden on all working Americans. All of this spending violates the Constitution and harms the American People by promising payment on a debt owed by this generation as well as by countless generations yet to be born. A direct tax on incomes violate our 5th and 14th Amendment rights to property and create the false appearance that the nation is able to manage its financial responsibilities. Yet looking at our ever-expanding national debt, it is clear that the government is fiscally irresponsible and is incapable of settling its liabilities. The proper solution can only be reached by reducing spending and taking the tax burden off of the American people by repealing the 16th Amendment.

Cap & Trade: How did they vote? This bill which is sold as an effort to save the enviornment, but which is really an opportunity for government to place more controls on our lives, our businesses, and our personal habits passed easily along lines that are very reminiscent of the vote made for the Bailout of the Auto Companies.
In Maryland, your representatives voted:
Frank Kratovil (1) voted "yes." Dutch Ruppersberger (2) voted "yes." John Sarbanes (3) voted "yes." Donna Edwards (4) voted "yes." Steny Hoyer (5) voted "yes." Elijah Cummings (7) voted "yes." Chris Van Hollen (8) voted "yes."
Only Roscoe Bartlett (6) voted "no." With this, our nation moves one step further away from free market capitalism and one step closer to socialism. Both Senators Cardin & Mikulski are also poised to vote for the bill. Next up for the Congress will Universal Healthcare, which President Obama has stated he is committed to getting done by the end of this year. Enacting such legislation will put such an extreme financial burden on this nation's already failing economy that economic disaster is bound to follow. While many proponents of a "Public Option" and a "Single-Payer" healthcare system say that providing healthcare is the most important thing, it is a red herring. This is a deceptive tactic to appeal to your emotions rather than logic. The reality is that every mortal on this planet is going to die. It is therefore up to the individual to secure their own healthcare and longevity. For the government to take on the role of ensuring your health and longevity is inviting the government to regulate every aspect of your life, from what you are able to eat or drink to what kind of sports you are allowed to play. A government that is put in charge of reducing the health risks of your life can do so by taking ALL risk out of your life. We should not willingly give up our Liberty to the government this way. Please continue to fight the government adoptiong Universal Healthcare, which is not only impossible for the nation to pay for, but which also strips us of those sacred rights & freedoms given to us by the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

It is with much sadness that I address the tragic events of the past few days. The world's attention has been focused on the outcome of the recent elections in Iran where Mahmoud Ahmedinjead was declared the winner. Unhappy with the results and spurred on by remarks made by President Obama in Cairo a week prior hailed as an "Address to the Muslim World," and with the challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi refusing to admit defeat, thousands of people took to the streets of Iran to express their dissent. Over the weekend, the nature of the clash shifted from a protest of the election to shouts of "Death to the Dictators," in protest against the Islamic government. With rocks being thrown at police, property being destroyed, a building being blown up, and several protesters shot, the death toll has risen above 20, with over 100 injured. It is my great hope that the Iranian people will come to a peaceful settlement and that the government of Iran will work out a meaningful resolution of this conflict with its people.
In Washington, DC, the Metro Subway system experienced a catastrophe when two trains collided due to an undisclosed error. Considerable damage was done to the railcars, and the death toll was last reported at 6, with over 70 injured from the accident. Since DC, Maryland, and Virginia all play a part in operating the Metro system, it is my hope that whatever Safety Measures are needed will be put in place to ensure that such an accident never happens again.
My deepest condolences go out to those who lost loved ones in these tragic events.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Officer Stephen Tyrone Johns of Temple Hills, MD. He died in the line of duty as a guard at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. This tragic event is the 2nd in 2 weeks where men in uniform have been shot & killed by DOMESTIC TERRORISTS. It is important to reject claims by the media and lawyers that this was a hate crime, as our men in uniform are not protected by hate crime legislation. Two weeks ago, two Army Privates in Little Rock, Arkansas were shot (and one killed) by a Muslim Terrorist who expressed hatred for our military, but no charges of committing a "hate crime" have been brought against Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad, who was trained in Yemen. Furthermore, charges against the New Black Panther Party for intimidating voters in New Jersey have been dropped by Attorney General Eric Holder. If there is no Justice, there can be no Peace.
Attempts to classify the shooting at the Holocaust Memorial as a hate crime presume that authorities can know and penalize the assailant for his thoughts rather than his actions, knowing full well that many of his political concerns were in disagreement with the current administration. This is a thinly-veiled and inappropriate attempt by "progressives" who seek to implement Marxist policies in America to stifle criticism of the Obama adminstration's "redistributive change," its disdain for the Constitution, its nationalization of major industries, and its profligate spending. The Department of Homeland Security, which has failed to prevent three acts of domestic terrorism this year (and which also failed to prevent the spread of H1N1 (Swine Flu) into the United States by securing the border) has neglected its primary responsibility, instead releasing incendiary "Warnings" which classify anyone who is pro-Life, against illegal immigration, supports 3rd party candidates, or who is a Veteran as potential "Right-Wing Extremists." This conveniently puts all of the President's political enemies in jeopardy of being declared security risks or threats to the nation. As usual, Liberals are trying to slander Conservatives by associating their views with racists. However, it is important to note that Nazism, Fascism, & Stalinism were actually philosophies of the progressive Left, requiring an extreme form of Collectivism to impose their destructive views on race, ethnicity, and social status. True Conservatives believe in protecting the rights of the Individual, not Groups.
This clear abuse of Executvie power is a disgrace to the Presidency. It highlights the extreme ineffectiveness of the Department of Homeland Security (which, despite the discovery of numerous terrorist plots, has not changed the Terror Alert Level since 2005) and also emphasizes that this nation needs Lawmakers in Congress who will stand up for the Constitution and provide checks and balances to the ever-growing power of the Executive Branch. This current Congress has shown that it is nothing but a "rubber stamp" for the President's irresponsible agenda, beholden to corrupt practices and doing favors for special interests. Significant reform is needed throughout the government, and must begin in the House of Representatives.

The ineptitude of the Bush adminstration has continued with the Obama administration, as can be seen by our inability to address the Pirate situation off of Somalia. Last October, we did not address the issues of Piracy off the Somali coast, and their attacks continued. This week, an American-flagged shipped has been hijacked, and although the crew was able to save the ship, the Captain of the ship, Richard Phillips, had to surrender himself as a hostage in order to avoid a bloody confrontation. Although the pirates have been stranded at sea for 4 days without replenishment, the USA has not managed to successfully negotiate the captain's release, nor have we been able to take out the terrorists. Notably, the Obama administration refuses to refer to the pirates as terrorists, although we that term has been applied to hijackers who seized airplanes in the 70's and 80's, taking hostages to exchange for ransom or release of political prisoners. The most important job of the presidency is to be an effective Commander-in-Chief.
Unfortunately, President Obama prefers to hide behind the issues of the economy he has unwisely decided to meddle with, but which he has no idea how to fix. He has taken to nationalizing a variety of failing commercial industries, from banks to car companies, meanwhile Maryland's Senator Cardin is seeking to nationalize the failing newspapers. The State of Maryland is also seeking to nationalize the Horse Racing industry, not because it is bringing in money, but because it is failing. All of these strategies amount to escalating debt, which will magnify our tax burden. The Obama adminsitration is working financially to destroy the nation's economy, and is setting on a path from which no recovery will be possible. The silver lining to this cloud is that our government can be changed. We can vote out those who have steered our country in the wrong direction. A Congress with enough votes can check the actions of the President, and even stop him cold when he does something foolish. Yet convinced that George Bush was actually a conservative (he was not!), voters kicked all the conservatives out of government, and replaced them with liberals who are dragging this nation towards Communism.
We have forgotten the lessons of the Cold War. We have forgotten the malaise of the Carter years, and the prosperity that came during the Reagan years. We ignore the recession that Reagan inherited in 1980, and continually blame Republicans like Herbert Hoover for passing the Great Depression on to Franklin Roosevelt. We forget history, and ignore the fact that the Great Depression was merely a recession under Hoover, but was prolonged and worsened by the policies of the New Deal. Forgetting history, we clamor eagerly for a "Global New Deal," neglecting American sovereignty in favor of Woodrow Wilson's dream of a world government. Worst of all, we reject the ideas of individual freedom and liberty--those values most sacred to the founding of our nation. We reject our Constitution when it constrains us from providing healthcare for all, and we do not care about the costs. We do not realize that the Soviet Union fell apart because it is impossible to run an empire on Communism. We ignore the failures of the European economies who have attempted socialized healthcare. Worst of all, we see our President attempting to expand the government into every element of private life, demanding universal service and even running long-standing charitable organizations out of business. We need people in government who stand for and represent the rights of the individual to be free, to live as they choose, and to keep the fruit of their labors. Today was the day the automakers were to report their future viability to the government, or return the $13.4 billion which the TAXPAYERS lent them last year as part of the T.A.R.P. Unfortunately, the Congress has failed to speak for the People once again. Yesterday, instead of getting the People's money back, the Obama administration took steps to take over General Motors and Chrysler Corporation. Ford, which did not accept the government funds last year, was the only one not subject to the demands of the Federal Government. Socialism is when the government controls the means of production. The President took direct control of General Motors, forcing its CEO, Rick Wagoner to resign, and also dictated that Chrysler must merge with the Italian company, Fiat. Our nation's private industry has been taken over by the central planners, and is no longer a bastion of Freedom, Free Markets, and Capitalism. In fact, each of these ideals which made America strong are now shunned as the hallmarks of evil, greed, and selfishness. As "Marryin" Barry Obama heads to the G-20 Summit, we can only hope that he does not take any further steps to completely destroy U.S. sovereignty. Treasury Secretary (and tax-cheat) Timothy Geithner already indicated that we may need to adopt a global currency in a speech to the Council on Foreign Relations, and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has already discussed the possibility of a "Global New Deal" with Obama. Since Congress is only acting as a rubber stamp for everything that Obama does, in the end, whether or not we remain a sovereign nation is completely in his hands. All we can do is hope for the best, and pray for the survival of the United States of America.

Presently, our representatives in Congress, the Senate, and the President have clearly lost site of the purpose of government. They have completely abandoned the Constitution, and have violated almost every single provision of the Bill of Rights. Despite passing an unconstituional bailout of AIG, under which contractual bonuses were paid to AIG Executives, the Congress has decided to reclaim these bonuses by penalizing the executives as a targeted group. This makes the action a "Bill of Attainder," forbidden by Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution. They also decided to punish the executives for a deed that was not illegal when done, but was declared illegal after-the-fact, an "Ex Post Facto Law," which is also forbidden by the same section of the Constitution. The Congress has decided to TAX the executives for 90% of the bonuses paid to them, depriving these individuals of their property without affording them "due process of the law," violating the 5th and 14th Amendments. This has all been done to reclaim $125 million out of $85 billion (a mere fraction of a percent) largely based on the knee-jerk reaction and outcry of an uninformed and mis-educated public, without consideration for the compensation given to these exectuives aside for their bonuses (many executives receive only a $1 salary) and without considering the expenses and financial obligations these executives will have to pay. The Government is punishing wealth, rewarding envy, and is encouraging the sentiment of "class warfare," which is consistent with the spirit of a socialist revolution where the proletariat (working class) overthrow the bourgoisie (merchant class). The people are not stirred into action over the millions that aristocrats like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are sitting on, nor are they concerned with the billions these politicians have doled out to their friends in government subsidies and "internal improvements." The public has been encouraged to turn a blind eye to politicians who have cheated on their taxes, like Charles Rangel, Timothy Geithner, Tom Daschle, and Marion Barry. The millions these crooked politicians have ignored in tax liability far exceeds the $125 million paid to AIG executives in accordance with the contract that Congress approved. Do our elected representatives think we are stupid? Instead of fighting for the American People, are they trying to inspire a socialist revolution here in America, where they will claim leadership of the Labor movement, while keeping their status as monied aristocrats? Are they trying to undo the unique Economic Liberty of the United States based on Free Trade and Free Markets? To my disappointemnt, all the signs say, "Yes." Meanwhile, European nations are calling for a "Global New Deal," and the Secretary of Treasury is indicating we might join the G-20 in moving toward an International currency. This should be of great concern to anyone who believes in our national sovereignty. All of this, plus individual rights, stand to be lost in a push to globalize, liberalize, and remove religious faith from the world as the result of an economic crisis that has been created by and exists almost exclusively in the minds of the media. It is high time for those who value Liberty and the spirit of Freedom which the United States were founded upon take a stand for our country before it is too late!

Despite the loudly heralded Global Warming trends, it snowed on March 1st, covering DC with patches of snow that 5 days later still needed to be removed, in this case to make way for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's arrival in Washington, D.C. for the shooting of a new film and a meeting with the President. Are these the kind of shovel-ready jobs that Marryin' Barry Obama had in mind?

The federal government has recently been investigating the activities of several Americans who have accounts in offshore bank accounts. The reason given is that these people may be avoiding tax liabilities, and of 52,000 such accounts, Swiss Bank UBS has turned over information on 12 to the United States for legal action. Mark Branson, (the CFO of UBS) testified to Congress that "tax evasion is not a crime in Switzerland," and the U.S. government's attempts to obtain information on account holders at the bank conflicts directly with Swiss law, and would better be resolved through the treaty negotiations between the U.S. and Switzerland. To some, this might seem like a justifiable intrusion into the lives of the "evil rich" to force them to pay their "fair share" in taxes. However, there is a much greater problem beneath the surface. Switzerland, renowned for protecting the privacy of its clients and maintaining neutrality in international conflicts, is now in the position of being bullied by the United States just as it takes center stage in adopting globalist policies and moving toward socialist policies which diminsh personal freedoms. Were the owners of these accounts to be revealed by UBS, the United States would be able to seize the domestic assets of these individuals, and would then be able to force them to comply with an IRS investigation. It should be noted that several individuals during WWII, including holocaust survivors, were able to retain their wealth after the conclusion of the War thanks to having placed their money in a Swiss bank account. By tampering with the privacy of account holders, the American government foreshadows the possiblity of another war on the horizon, and that it may need the power to financially criple potential dissidents when the war does break out. This should be cause for great concern for all people, as international law is being broached for the simple gesture of gaining a few billion dollars in taxes, while the national debt is in the tens of trillions. The true gain would be in limiting the freedom of individuals to move, relocate, and retain their wealth during a global emergency by manipulating the world's financial systems, even the ones known for remaining neutral maintaining client privacy. In response to the U.S. inquisition, UBS has ceased its services with U.S. customers not living abroad. The United States should respect International Law, and should work with banks like UBS and Credit Suisse to more diligently track any unlawful financial activities by U.S. Citizens without violating their privacy or Swiss law.

Rick Santelli's rant against the Obama stimulus package on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange led to numerous calls for activism across the nation. On February 27, Tea Parties were held in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Fayetteville, Kansas City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. The DC Tea Party coincided with CPAC, and saw hundreds of activists, gathered to protest the excessive government spending by the Obama administration, which is guaranteed to leave us with several generations of insurmountable debt. Most of all, we gathered to fight against the socialism that is being forced upon America by the Obama administration. Samuel (Joe) Wurzlebacher (also known as "Joe the Plumber")--the man who exposed Obama's socialist plans for the country--participated in the DC event as well. Also present was Michael Maresko, also known as the "Ron Paul Rider" who bicycled from Los Angeles, CA through Texas and up to DC and Virginia to spread the message of Liberty for Ron Paul's campaign in 2008. I rode with him on the last leg of his trip, and am glad to have been a part of the launch of this movement to protect the rights of individuals and to limit the expansion of government control over our lives.

Tonight, President Obama gave his "State of the Nation" speech to address the Economic issues facing the United States. Yesterday, he held a "Fiscal Responsibility Summit," which featured a host of Democrats and Republicans who DO NOT believe in fiscal responsibility, gathering together in a show of solidarity in the pretense that their collaboration is going to bring prosperity to the nation and recovery to our economic woes.
But how do we know they are really not interested in prosperity OR economic recovery? Because they continue to let the cause of the problem fester. If the President, the Democrat-controlled Congress, and the rest of government were genuinely concerned with OUR Welfare, they would be eager to implement the "Fight Club Solution." For those unfamiliar, Fight Club features a schizophrenic, hypochondriac narrator (Jack) who invents an alter-ego named Tyler Durden who is more of an Alpha Male, all-around successful businessman who manufactures soap. Since he is an insomniac, he creates Fight Club in his spare time for men past their prime to take out their angst and re-capture their youth. However, even this is a front, as by the end of the story we realize that the Fight Club is actually a secret army of unquestioningly loyal, well-trained, disassociated soldiers willing to carry out Tyler Durden's plan without question. As it turns out, Tyler Durden is really Jack, and his plan?...to relieve everyone of their DEBT by blowing up the records of all the Credit Card companies.
Our government would not have to implement so violent or bloody a measure to resolve the economic crisis. Rather than spending trillions (that's a MILLION- MILLION) to bail out failed banks and automakers, and mandating freezes on foreclosures (which rewards failure, but still keeps most of us IN DEBT) the government could easily set everyone on a sound financial footing by wiping out all of our debts. Whether this is done by procuring the money and paying off the debt, or by simply mandating a DEBT AMNESTY is not important. The end result is that everyone would be debt-free. We would then have money to go out and buy and sell things and stimulate the economy on our own.
While I would personally regard such a solution as irresponsible, I do consider it superior to the path that President Obama has laid out for the nation 1) because it is indeed Revolutionary, 2) because it attacks the problem at its root, which is the banking system and the DEBT, and most importantly 3) it preserves the FREE MARKET and allows capitalism to thrive. The path that Obama has taken is the road to socialism, full of good but foolish intentions, which history has shown us is the ROAD TO SERFDOM.

With the $787,000,000,000 stimulus bill passed, the Obama administration has finally decided to address the foreclosure problem by adding another 75 BILLION dollars to the national debt. He has cleverly castrated the opposing Republicans, who have shown that three of their number who value power more than principle do not dare stand up to the Democrats. One party rule is established, and there is no possibility of opposition to ANYTHING Obama wants. The auto makers which took bailout money last fall have not shown their profitability or their ability to repay. Still, the Congress has not shown that it will demand the money back. Instead, the Congress is likely to give out even more money to the auto makers and other failed businesses.
Where does the government stand? Are they for you, or against you? Ask yourself if you beneift directly from ANYTHING the President or the Congress has done with all this excessive spending. Have they paid off YOUR mortgage? Have they gotten YOU out of debt? Have they put a dime in YOUR pocket? If the answer to all these questions is "no," then you have your answer. The government is actually working AGAINST the people, and is destroying our dollar by printing money excessively, which will lead to hyper-inflation. They give the money freely to the banks, which then turn around and loan the money to you as credit. This only comes to you in the form of DEBT. How do you benefit? You don't, but they hope that they can push Americans into more deficit spending, increasing the banking hegemony. If you choose to save, prices on everything will rise, which will create hyper-inflation. Unfortunately, there is no Ronald Reagan to get us out of this mess. We have abandoned free market principles out of fear and misinformation. Although Bush started the process of nationalizing our industries and moving us toward socialism, Obama is picking up right where he left off. This should set off alarm bells among Republicans and Democrats alike, but it is not. Even the Russian Premier, Vladimir Putin, has warned us not to make the mistakes Russia made in attempting socialism. In Europe before WWII, many nations (including Germany and Italy) attempted socialism and experienced significant hyperinflation and paved the way for fascist dictators to come to power. For us to follow down the same path indicates either a complete ignorance of history, or an intentional effort to destroy the United States of America. Government cannot get us out of this situation. Only the will of a free people can.
Furthermore, the Obama Adminsitration has laid out its plan for National Service, which will include mandatory service for middle school and high school students, and possibly a reinstatement of the draft. Apparently, the President who likens himself to Abaraham Lincoln (who never intended to end slavery, suspended habeas corpus, and threw members of Congress who spoke out against him in jail) has no respect for the Constitution OR the 13th Amendment, which ended slavery. Involuntary Servitude is unconstitutional, and should rouse the anger of every African American and person of color in thenation. Just as under Bush, our liberties are under attack from within the government, and we must mobilize to protect our rights and our freedom.

The 900-billion-dollar stimulus package takes center-stage again as every Republican in the House of Representatives stood firm for fiscal conservatism last week, and this effort at wasteful spending heads to the Senate for a vote tomorrow. President Obama took to the airwaves, occupying every major network plus PBS to offer a sales-pitch for the stimulus to an increasingly skeptical American public. The President made the ridiculous assertion that he did not want to hear about the need for fiscal conservatism from Republicans who went along with spending under the previous adminsitration, which doubled the national debt. He criticized those who want to "do nothing," implying that the trillions upon trillions the government has spent so far has done any good. What President Obama wants you to forget is that HE was one of those people who voted consistently and repeatedly to increase spending and to expand the debt under George W. Bush. He wants you to forget that HE voted to fund the Iraq war, and that most of his cabinet voted to get us into the war. He wants you to forget that HE went along with every major spending bill under Bush who admitted that he destroyed the free market. Obama wants you to forget that HE voted for the $700 Billion bailout in October, and he talked up an economic crisis that was very minor in August, but as the Presidential campaign wore on, and he continually made unwarranted and even false references to the Great Depression, he destroyed investor confidence and created the situation we have now. His approval ratings depend on the American People being too blind to realize that HE is at the center of this mess.
He went to a county in Indiana where the unemployment rate is at 15% and attempted to pitch his message there. The first question he was asked was from an African American admirer who wanted to know if the government was going to give some of this stimulus money to the homeowners who need it, instead of to the banks. Naturally, being no friend of the People, President Obama dodged the question, instead putting the blame on the Bush administration, and never offering to give a single dime back to the taxpayers. Another questioner who as an industrious entrepreneur started his own "green" business, asked the President to support small businesses like his, instead of large corporations like the banks and the big three auto-makers. Once again, President Obama showed he is out of touch with the American People and has no idea how to give a real boost to the economy. To his credit , to promise government aid to these companies would be to offer "Internal Improvements," (consistent with Abraham Lincoln) but which is the problem with government interference in the free market in the first place--playing favorites. All government should do is enable competition and protect our individual rights. President Obama does not understand this, and believes the role of government is to simply "do something," even if it is wasteful and destructive in the long-run. There was also a woman who was booed by the adoring crowd for asking President Obama some tough questions, like criticizing his picks of several tax cheats and lobbyists for his cabinet. The crowd showed, as has been seen throughout the campaign, that criticism of the Mr. Obama is not allowed--free speech and dissent are no longer an option, and we are on the road to fascism. To his credit, President Obama allowed the woman to ask her questions. However, the freedom of a people is never taken away by one person alone, but by a multitude of enablers, eager to stifle the rights of their fellow countrymen.
Within a day, it will be clear if we have one-party rule in America. As President Obama noted, and as every commentor on tv and radio keeps repeating, "he won." That means that he is the sole ruler of this nation, and he gets whatever he wants. If this is true, and if the Senate gives up its power to check the President, then this is the end of the Republic. "I won." Those were the words used a week ago by the President at a meeting with Republican leaders in Congress, as they wrestled over the details of the proposed "stimulus" bill.
"I won" means he does not need their approval or support. He will get his way with the overwhelming Democratic majority in both houses.
"I won" means he can continue failed the failed wars and economic policies of George W. Bush, AND he can appoint people to his cabinet and the courts who are hostile to the Constiution, and he will get away with it because the People are in awe of him, and our government has no checks and balances.
"I won" means that he didn't just win the Presidency--he won the whole country. He controls the government, and every member of Congress is his subject. Soon, the Supreme Court will be as well. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi brazenly asserted that he is "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time." So, if Republicans want to say it's a good life, they had better be nice to President Obama, or as he says, he "will trump you on that."
What Barack Obama does not realize is that he gave up the more powerful job of U.S. Senator for the figurehead position of the Presidency. As a non-veteran, he chose to run for the position of commander-in-chief of the armed forces, bringing no experience in military matters and no experience in intelligence gathering. All the while he was campaigning and neglecting his legislative responsibilities, which included appropriating funds and protecting our civil liberties. His inexperience is clearly reflected in his choice for a Vice President and other members of his cabinet. Among these are:
1) Joe Biden, voted for the Iraq war. 2) Hillary Clinton, voted for the Iraq War, ineligible to his cabinet because of the emoluments clause. 3) Tom Daschle, voted for the Iraq War, and cheated on his income taxes for over $120,000 (withdrew nomination) 4) Tim Geithner, cheated on his taxes 4 times, and now receives our tax dollars as Secreteary of Treasury. 5) Nancy Killefer, tax lien & questions about paying her maid (withdrew nomination) 6) Bill Richardson, being investigated for conflict-of-interest (withdrew nomination)
The list could go on... The real problem is that none of these nominees have met nor would have met serious opposition in the Senate. Because "he won," Obama's picks will sail through confirmation without question by the extremely partisan Congress. Similarly, the American People do not question his wisdom. This is what we wanted, right? No self-government? This is what "he won." His ardent supporters can be heard on radio and television repeating his blatant deception that we're in "the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression," and one person added, "that is a fact." To the contrary, that is a lie. Pick a metric--unemployment, inflation, or any other sign of the economy, and you will see that things were much worse in the late 70's and early 80's. Even the stock market (which lost almost half its value over the course of the Presidential campaign) didn't suffer its greatest losses until then-Senator Obama started repeating this depressing line. "I won" means that he even controls the levers to the economy. And that is a great concern, since he believes that "only government" can fix our financial system and create prosperity. Yet history has shown that government cannot create prosperity. His is the dream of an inexperienced idealist, and is more in line with Karl Marx than with any of our Founding Fathers, Abraham Lincoln included.
At this time, it is important that we have faith in more than government. We must remember that everyone in government (including the President) serves the American People, not the other way around. It is important that we have faith in the power of Freedom. We can save ourselves and we can fix our own economy by becoming industrious rather than looking to government for handouts. And if we decide to do so--if we decide to stand up against government intervention and taking control of our lives, telling us what to do and limiting what we can earn, then we will have shown the resiliency of the spirit of Freedom that founded this country. If we can do that, "WE win." And we can trump anyone, including our self-proclaimed leaders, on that.

All of President Obama's cabinet choices are being confirmed with little resistance in the Senate. Despite Obama's declaration that he would not allow lobbyists to work in his administration, he made an exception and appointed Raytheon lobbyist William Lynn as Undersecretary of Defense. Despite problems with receiving financial contributions from foreign donors, and more importantly Article I, Section 6 of the Constitution, Hillary Clinton was easily confirmed as Secretary of State over the weekend. Despite having no experience in the Intelligence Community, Leon Panetta is likely to be confirmed as CIA Director. And today, 4-time tax cheat Timothy Geithner was confirmed as Secretary of Treasury, the recipient of all our income taxes. This can perhaps all be attributed to a massive enthusiasm about Obama's Presidency, which was best expressed by Maryland State Senator Lisa Gladden, who said, “It doesn’t matter that the State of Maryland is broke, as long as Barack Obama is the President of the United States, it is going to be great” (see video). As one commentor in the video notes, our taxes are going to pay her salary.

For me, it was something that I’ve always believed. I’ve read the Declaration of Independence. I’ve read the Constitution. I have the preamble memorized. It’s something I’ve always believed in, and when Barack Obama won, it validated a piece of me that I wasn’t allowed to say out loud – that America is not a racist nation.
I love that all of our excuses have been removed. African-American excuses have been removed. There’s no white man trying to keep you down, because if he were really trying to keep you down, he would have done everything he could to keep Obama down. Yes, there are racist people who live here, absolutely. But they’re not the majority anymore.
I’m an African American, and I was able to climb to a certain point in Hollywood. On that journey, I realized people weren’t trying to stop me. Most people were trying to help me.

Before Obama won the presidency, it was like, I’m the exception. Tiger is the exception. Michael Jordan is the exception. Bill Cosby is the exception. But there’s something about being the leader of the free world, with every other position on earth below that. You can’t argue with that. If Barack Obama can win the presidency of the United States, you can absolutely be the manager at Saks.
Come on. It was such a fantastic experience for me to be able to say out loud that I love America and not be called an Uncle Tom. That I can stand out, and I can say out loud that I love this country and not get funny looks.
I don’t think we are African Americans, Irish Americans or Japanese Americans anymore. I think Americans are a new race of people. We are Americans of African descent. We are Americans of Irish descent.
I would like to applaud President-Elect Obama's decision to delay the transition to Digital TV. Again, he has made a decision that is in the interests of the People rather than big business. While members of Congress have turned a deaf ear to the People since 2005 on this issue, looking instead to boost sales of new televisions and converter boxes, I have been solidly against this. Digital TV threatens consumers by making inexpensive televisions obsolete, and which have worked in the homes of many Americans for decades. Analog broadcast signals are sufficient for watching most TV programming, especially for the poor who cannot affort Cable TV or Satellite. Additionally, problems with Digital TV, such as partial picture-loss or completely blank screens would only result in fuzziness, snow, or ghosts in an Analog signal. Requiring everyone in the USA to switch to Digital TV, simply for a "crisper" picture is comparable to forcing everyone to upgrade from tapes, LP's, & CD's just to sell iPods, or from analog radio to HD radio just to force everyone to get satellite radio receivers. As the government surely knows, many consumers will adopt the new technology on their own (compare the move from VHS to DVD). However with some new techonologies like Blue-Ray and HD DVD, consumers will wait to switch, or there will be competition between unproven technologies. The only way to get everyone to switch to something new is to FORCE the change upon the People by taking away all alternatives. This is the beginning of government-controlled entertainment, and hearkens clearly toward socialism. Worse yet, it hurts the poor by forcing them to upgrade their systems if they want to continue watching television at all. Microsoft uses a similar strategy in upgrading its Windows OS every couple of years, and then refusing to support older versions of Windows, forcing everyone to upgrade to the new OS which won't run on older PC's, thereby artificially boosting computer sales. The government does the same thing when arbitrary standards are placed on older vehicles, thereby requiring consumers to upgrade automobiles every few years, artificially boosting car sales. The failure of American auto manufacturers to be profitable despite this government intervention in the market shows that more government is not the solution. In all of these cases, the Free Market should decide which products dominate consumer choice, not the government. While Congressmembers Donna Edwards (4) and Steny Hoyer (5) are busy promoting the coercive switch to Digital TV, I am again very glad that President-Elect Obama has decided to come down on the side of the People.

Today, the children of the President-Elect attended their first day of school in Washington, DC. Barack Obama has many of the issues right. I commend his stance on the Iraq war and the need to bring our troops home from around the world. I commend his willingness to recognize the problems with our struggling economy, and to realize that people need a "hand-up, not a hand-out." Although I applaud him for his many wise decisions and for being an instrument of change, I am disappointed he chose not to send his children to DC Public Schools. This shows that for well-monied aristocrats, when it comes to their children, private education is almost always preferred. If the future President will not send his own children to government-run schools, why should we? Why doesn't he support vouchers that will allow ordinary citizens like you and me to recoup our tax dollars and exercise school choice? Why is the DC City Council (which goes against the Constitution and asserts a right to "home rule") not being held accountable for the city's failing school system? Why is Michelle Rhee receiving so much resistance for wanting to bring true change and reform to DC Public Schools? The situation in Washington, DC is overflowing with hypocrisy, injustice, and unconstitutionalism as the President-Elect is privileged enough to send his children to private schools, thereby reinforcing the values of capitalism and free-market economics that he and his party have fought so hard to undermine.
The coming week will bring a series of Constiutional battles as the rules for seating Senators are brought into question and as cabinet appointees come under scrutiny. The question that looms over our thoughts is, "Will they heed the Constitution, or will they ignore it?" We know what our government ought to do, and we always hope they will do what's right. The race card has already been played by Illinois Congressman Bobby Rush, who asserted that the Senate's reluctance to seat Rolan Burris was because he is Black. We should take note that while Barack Obama was the only African American in the Senate, Maryland passed up two opportunities to appoint an African American to the Senate in 2006 (former NAACP President Kweisei Mfume and former Lt. Governor Michael Steele). Race is certainly not an issue in the Senate appointment, and use of race as a weapon in this fashion is deplorable.

Three of the five men convicted in the Fort Dix Terror plot were illegal aliens. It is very important for National Security that we secure our borders against all who would come here illegally and commit acts of violence. Several heinous crimes in Maryland, including a home invasion in Wheaton where three illegal immigrants burned an 83-year-old woman alive and killed her, highlight the need for much stricter immigration controls and more proactive efforts on the part of local law enforcement to assist Federal authorities in keeping our nation and our neighborhoods safe.

DARK ENERGY in the News: Astronomers report that Dark Energy governs the growth of the Universe by preventing galaxies from becoming too large, becoming perpetually denser due to the force of gravity. Dark Energy works against this, and is used to explain the constant EXPANSION of the Universe.
In the evening hours of this day, the Wasilla Bible Church was doused with fuel and set ablaze by arsonists while women and children were inside. This calls to mind memories of Bobby Frank Cherry, the only individual punished and imprisoned in association with the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Brimingham, Alabama where 4 little girls were killed. Regardless of whether this vicious attack was done as an insult to Governor Sarah Palin or as a statement against her beliefs, this is most certainly an attack on religion and people of faith all across America. Believers cannot sit idly by while churches are attacked. This is an act of violence and war upon holy ground, and shows no respect for the things sacred, for the Creator, or for the religious rights of others. If you will tolerate the desecration of a church, what will you not tolerate? This despicable behavior should not be tolerated by any members of any race, and the freedom of religion in these United States must be defended by every man or woman of quality against all enemies.

How did they vote? Our Senators and Representatives got together to vote on a bailout for the Auto Industry. Since March of 2008, we have seen the failed investment banks, mortgage insurance companies, and now auto manufacturers with failed business models get lucrative, multi-billion-dollar rescue packages to put more money--not into the hands of the workers or the struggling homeowners-- but into the hands of the rich, overpaid business executvies. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Steny Hoyer, and Barney Frank have shepherded the Congress into these disastrous financial decisions that not only increase our national debt, but threaten the foundations of our capitalist economic system. Where does this money come from? It comes from YOUR pockets.
Once again, we see the usual suspects voting to take more money from your wallets and give it to wealthy auto execs:
In Maryland:
Dutch Ruppersberger (2) voted "yes." John Sarbanes (3) voted "yes." Donna Edwards (4) voted "yes." Steny Hoyer (5) voted "yes." Elijah Cummings (7) voted "yes." Chris Van Hollen (8) voted "yes."
Only Roscoe Bartlett (6) voted "no," to protect you and your tax dollars from these greedy business executives. We can see a clear pattern developing, as the above Democrats ALL voted to hand over your money to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG, Bear Stearns, and the rest.
Senators Mikulski and Cardin also voted "yes" on the auto bailouts, however even with these votes, the 60 votes needed for passage in the Senate was not reached. Much credit should be given to the handful of Senators (none from Maryland) who actually listened to the People and voted to protect OUR economic interests, not the interests of greedy businessmen who cannot run a company successfully and obstructive unions that will not compromise to allow these businesses to be profitable. The next Congress in 2009 will be filled with people who believe in more government control of all our lives, higher taxes for everyone, and a complete disregard for protecting your property and your money. They feel they have been given a mandate to "spread the wealth around," (which is just another term for taking more of your money to give it to their cronies in big business) and a more extensive, multi-trillion-dollar bailout will be one of their top priorities. Unfortunately, none of that wealth comes back to the middle class. All of it becomes the debt of the entire nation, which destroys our economy and our ability to pay our way out in the future. We must hold government accountable, curtail excessive spending, and let our Senators and Representatives know we oppose these bailouts. Let the President know as well, as he signs the laws that they pass. And if they do not listen--if they appropriate these favors to the monied special interests anyway, we should vote against them in every election until we have a body of elected officials who do their jobs, which is not to pass around favors among their friends, but instead to represent the PEOPLE of the United States of America.

Another distraction has been orchestrated by the press in the headline-dominating arrest of Illinois' governor, Milorad Blagojevich. Despite the clear ramifications implied by the corruption of Springfield's political system in relation to President-Elect Barack Obama and his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, this is a complete red-herring--a distraction from the crime being committed against the American People in stealing their money to give to the Big 3 Auto Makers. Gov. Blagojevich made national news when someone tipped his office and the press off to the fact that his phone conversations were being monitored by the FBI. This was clearly done, not to assist Law Endorcement or to catch anyone in a crime, but to short-circuit Justice and to to allow those involved to get out of any illegal dealings before any serious evidence could be gathered. Look for Milorad (aka "Rod") Blagojevich to easily get off without so much as a slap on the wrist, and for any co-conspirators--especially anyone who is part of the incoming Presidential administration--to be cleared of any wrongdoing. This is how politics works in a nation where cronyism (rather than the Constitution) is the supreme law of the land.

Today, we remember Pearl Harbor Day, the day that the our Naval Forces were attacked by Japanese bombers in 1941, killing over 2,400 Americans. Two battleships (USS Arizona and USS Oklahoma) were also lost to the fight. This was referred to by President Roosevelt as a "date that will live in infamy." It was this event that propelled the United States to get involved in the Second World War. We should never forget the sacrifices of the men and women who served their country, and we should never forget the lesson learned that day--that it is appropriate to be "always prepared."

A bailout for auto-makers is a very bad idea. These are failed businesses, and Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi are happy to steal the money of taxpaying citizens without our CONSENT and hand it over to their friends in big business. Has there ever been such a blatant example of corruption in government? Through the Federal Reserve, we have been devaluing the currency and driving ourselves further and further into debt for years, but all of these bailouts make the problem exponentially worse. An AP article asked if the bailouts benefitted only Wall Street, or if they also benefitted consumers. The answer provided follows:
"The government's infusion is designed to get more money to lenders. That's expected to spread benefits throughout the economy by putting it into the hands of consumers, in the form of more available credit and easier mortgage financing."
It is important to realize that all of this money goes to the bankers, and it comes back to the consumer, not in the form of real cash or savings, nor in the form of reduced taxes. It comes to the taxpayers in the form of credit, which is only useful in putting us FURTHER INTO DEBT.
The crooks in Congress have conspired with the banks, and their friends in big business to cripple the American Taxpayers with ever-increasing amounts of debt. A wise person understands that money only exists as debt. An even wiser person realizes that our debt keeps us enslaved. My goal is to free us from slavery, and fight against those at all levels who would put you back into slavery. Know who your enemies are.

Putting your life on the line for your country is the highest form of service, and deserves our respect. Without the sacrifices of our Veterans, we would not be a nation, and we would not be free. If your only purpose in voting is to perpetuate the 2-party system, and to vote for a KING, then you have missed the entire point of representative democracy. There will also be a 3rd-Party Presidential Debate this Sunday at Columbia University. You won't see it on the Mainstream Media; they won't talk about it on Black Radio, even though one of the candidates is a Black woman; but you can watch it on C-SPAN. Please learn all you can about the issues and the candidates. Then vote on November 4.

The financial turmoil has been a distraction, and we must wake up to the real danger. Once again, judges have assumed the role of lawmakers and overridden the will of the people. Today, Connecticut became the 3rd state to legalize gay marriage, and the third to do so through judicial activism. States have demonstrated consistently an inability to protect marriage and observe the law. They also violate the 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution by infringing on the religious sacrament of marriage. Marriage is the process of unifying families, and has been improperly usurped by government as a means of bestowing privileges, benefits, and entitlements to qualifying groups. For government to confer special rights on individuals because of their sexual orientation violates the 14th Amendment. Yesterday, the Senate went against the Constitution and the will of the People to pass legislation to appropriate funds for the $700 billion bailout. Article I, Section 7 of the Constitution reserves that power for the House of Representatives, which voted against the bailout two days before. The Senate bypassed this technicality by passing it as an amendment, filled it with pork, and passed it by 75%. Both Maryland Senators voted for it. Notably, Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, the Senator I most often agree with, voted against it. Today, the House voted to approve the Senate's measure. In Maryland, only Roscoe Bartlett (6) voted against it. Ron Paul (TX) and Dennis Kucinich (OH) also voted against it. Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (5) led the charge, persuading his fellow Congressmen to ignore the pleas of their own constituents to give aid to failed investment banks, racetrack owners, the makers of toy arrows, and other Special Interests. Donna Edwards (4) who voted against the bill on Monday capitulated and voted for it today as well. Apparently, all she needed was confirmation from Barney Frank (MA) that the bill provided protections for homeowners. Yet she was not able to determine this on Monday. Is this a sign of good judgement? Is this "Leadership that Listens?" In contrast, these same provisions were not enough for Democratic Sen. Feingold to support it, nor was it enough for the American People who called in at 90 to 1 against passage of the bill. Representative democracy is surely dead. We now have Taxation Without Representation, and have handed over even more power to the Executive Branch.
Meanwhile, the War wages on. More violence erupts in Iraq and Afghanistan, and we're making cross-border attacks into Pakistan without an agreement with its leaders. Pirates off the coast of Somalia hold us at a stand-off, and NATO troops have rolled into Georgia, potentially threatening the future of our space program which depends on intelligent diplomacy with Russia. Through all this, the Do-Nothing Congress continues to do nothing but steal our money and put us further in debt. (Now over $10 trillion.) We need new leadership in Congress. Anyone who voted for the bailout should be voted out.

Congratulations to the American People for standing up to Congress and preventing the $700 Billion bailout of the GSE's and failed investment banks. Members of Congress were told to go against the will of the people and vote for the bailout. My belief is that every member of Congress who voted for this bailout should be voted out of office this November. We can avoid financial catastrophe by doing what we've always done to keep our economy strong: supporting the free market. If we continue to shop, continue to travel, and keep our investments in the market, things will return to normal. If we panic, as Henry Paulson, Ben Bernanke, and George Bush want us to, then things will definitely get worse--with or without a bailout. We should especially hold prejudice against the leaders in government who urged their fellow members to vote against their constituents. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Nanci Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, and even some Republicans should know better. Check how your Congressman voted, and if they voted to bail out these large coportations, please vote them out of office this November.

221 years ago today, 39 of the founding fathers signed the U.S. Constitution. This was the culmination of the Constitutional Convention, which was formed to create a more perfect Union under a strong Federal Government with more power than what was provided for in the failed Articles of Confederation, which had left many of the states bankrupt and had proven incapable of providing many of the nation's military needs. Today is celebrated as Constitution Day--a day to commemorate the Document (neither a Flag nor a King) which ALL members of our government, including our Representatives in Congress, swear an oath to protect and defend.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the friends, families, and those who perished on September 11, 2001 and in the Anthrax attacks that followed. While our government put out a deck of cards for members of Saddam Hussein's government, which did not attack us, we have yet to apprehend bin Laden or al Zawahiri and bring them to justice. Our government has also failed to adequately prove that Bruce Ivins was responsible for the Anthrax attacks. 9/11 was certainly the greatest intelligence failure this country has seen since Pearl Harbor, and the greatest military failure since the War of 1812 in which the White House was destroyed. The President and the Congress have been tragically irresponsible in the 7 years since, authorizing and provoking wars where there was no threat to us, engaging in secret wars, running secret prisons, and stripping the American People of their Constitutional Rights. Now, those in power want us to trust them with more of our money while they run us into debt to bail out their friends in big business. We must stand against the outside forces and hold accountable all who failed to protect us on this tragic day. We must demand new government, and all who allowed us to be misled into Iraq should be voted out of office in November.

Today, Congressman Ron Paul held a press conference along with Cynthia McKinney (Green Party), Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party), and Ralph Nader to encourage voters to support 3rd Party candidates. Also invited was Bob Barr (Libertarian Party) who did not attend, but who I ran into that same day. Although these parties vary on some social issues, they all agree to fight together on the most important issues facing our nation, all of wihich both the Democrats AND Republicans have neglected:
1) Foreign Policy - Ending the War and American Imperialism 2) Privacy - Ending FISA, the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and Torture 3) Eliminating the National Debt and Deficit Spending 4) Ending or Reforming the Federal Reserve
Despite two prior attempts to bail out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government has resorted to nationalizing these companies that hold almost half the mortages in the USA. For the taxpaying citizens, this means more debt and more risk. Our credit has been used to gamble on the future viability of the U.S. housing market, once again without our consent. This is not a rescue effort for needy homeowners, but a government handout to big businesses. Worse yet, this move was made exclusively by the Executive Branch, while the House and Senate were still out on recess. This further underscores how far our country has drifted away from a government by the people, for the people, of the people. Congress should return this week, now that the conventions are over. Although three of our Senators are busy running for President, will the rest of our representatives pass any meaningful legilslation to relieve our dependence on foreign oil, or will they continue to be a "Do-Nothing Congress?"

Georgia is not capable of defending itself, and it is not the responsibility of the United States to bail it out. The hypocrisy of the Bush adminsitration is fully revealed in the conflict between Georgia and Russia over South Ossetia. After the United States plotted, invaded, and continues to occupy Iraq, we find our President condemning the Russians for doing the same thing in South Ossetia. We are in no position to condemn Russia for enforcing their own form of Monroe Doctrine, especially after we took it upon ourselves to institute "regime change" in Iraq.
Most importantly, a nation that cannot defend itself is not a nation at all. If there is no other purpose for government, it is to provide for the defense of its people. This is why people form nations to begin with. For the United States to act as the defender and protector of every weak nation puts us again into the position of being the world's policeman, engaging us in foreign entanglements that our Founders, including George Washington, warned us against. We need to look out for our own citizens and our own best interests. Let Georgia form an alliance with its neighbors if it seeks a stronger defense. Balkanization is detrimental to the strength of a nation. The United States avoided its own balkanization in 1865, and Georgia is facing the consequences of being weak and antagonizing its much stronger neighbor.

Today, the Congress adjourned to go on vacation while most Americans cannot afford to. They left their seats without voting on whether to lift the Ban on Offshore drilling. While I fully agree with T. Boone Pickens' approach to relievng our dependence on oil, I am also interested in doing everything we can NOW to ease the pain at the pump. Gasoline vehicles will still be around for the foreseeable future, and unless we are willing to do without, we need to "drill here, drill now" and develop the necessary refineries to alleviate the effects that oil shortages will have on us in the future.
We can also do alot to reduce the cost of oil by consuming less. That's called being "conservative." Did you notice what happened when gas prices were so high that people stopped driving their cars? Gas prices went down. That's a result of supply and demand, where drivers showed less demand of oil, and gas companies had to lower the price to encourage more people to drive. The best way to reduce gas prices, and the effects of rising gas prices NOW is to drive as little as possible. Walk, bike, or take public transportation instead, and if millions of people did the same, the price of gas would surely fall.
As for the Congress, I am deeply disappointed in their behavior. Of 8 Maryland Congressmen, all but one of them (Roscoe Bartlett, R-6) voted to adjourn today. This shows a clear disregard for the concerns of their constituents, and a much greater desire to take a break from their duties as our Representatives for a month-long summer break, and to raise funds for future elections. My job does not give ME a month of paid leave to vacation and run for office. Not only did Congress fail to vote on offshore drilling, but they continue to fail to end the irresponsible occupation of Iraq, instead following the lead of the President both in getting into and out of war. CONGRESS MAKES WAR, NOT THE PRESIDENT. Congress has also failed to bring Bush aides Karl Rove and Harriet Miers before them dating back to May. Fortunately, the courts have supported the Congress' subpoena power, but I predict that Bush, Rove, and Miers will continue to ignore Congress' authority, especially since all police powers are vested in the Executive Branch. If the Executive Branch cannot support the Congress, its members should be held in contempt.
Also today, DHS indicated that they can seize a Citizen's property when coming through customs, even if there is no suspicion of wrongdoing on their part. The 5th and 14th Amendments, which protect us from being deprived of property without "due process" do not seem to apply in this day and age. Why? Because our Congressmen and Senators have let that power slip away, and have allowed the Executive to take on powers not specified in the Constitution. We MUST stand up for our rights, and this begins with electing Representatives to Congress who will uphold and defend the Constitution against ALL enemies.

History was made today when Dick Heller, one of the Defendants in District of Columbia v. Heller, went to the Metropolitan Police Department to register his revolver. Of note, Mr. Heller won an unprecedented Constitutional victory when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the 2nd Amendment did indeed grant the Citizens of the United States an Individual Right to "keep and bear arms." While the Supreme Court provided for reasonable limitations on gun ownership, the D.C. City Council and other elected officials (including Mayor Adrian Fenty, Police Chief Cathy Lanier, and Delegate Eleanor Holmes-Norton) all criticized the Court's decision, and have been continuing to seek ways to restrict the Constitutional Rights of the People.
In the United States of America, the Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It is what protects the People from an oppressive and tryannical government. As stated in the Declaration of Independence, when a government becomes tyrannical, it is time for the People to alter or abolish it. Let me offer a more peaceful compromise: Those who will not uphold their oaths to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States" should be voted out and replaced with responsible individuals who will protect the rights of Free People. During and after the Civil War, Confederate sympathizers sought to oppress the rights of the People by denying blacks equal rights as afforded by the Constitutional Process. Now, the government of the District of Columbia seeks to do the same to its citizens. When we look at the alarming rate of crime and violence in the District, government officials as well as the media have consistently turned a blind eye to the fact that law-abiding citizens have been denied the legal right to defend themselves by carrying a firearm for over 30 years. This has left guns in the hands of criminals, and have left innocent victims, such as 13-year-old Alonzo Robinson exposed to this violence with no means of protection. The solution is NOT to impede on the rights of law-abiding citizens by denying the right of people to travel freely and enjoy the fruits of liberty. The DC Government thinks the best way to protect the people is to turn the city into a police state. Yet even with checkpoints in place in the Trinidad neighborhood, murders and violence continue to occur. The solution is to follow the Constitution, something the current D.C. City Government refuses to do.

July 8, 2008: No New War Powers Act
Former Secretaries of State James Baker and Warren Christpher announced today the findings of a "joint" commission which concluded that the 1973 War Powers Resolution was "ineffective at best," and "unconstitutional at worst." The War Powers Resolution was passed at the end of the Vietnam War, and allows the President to commit U.S. troops to combat for 45 days without notifying Congress, and for an additional 15 days after notifying them. The new resolution seeks to require the president to consult Congress, but does not require obtaining their consent. This does not even address covert operations, and as such, the Executive Branch can engage in hostilities without Congressional approval or even awareness of the activities.
There is absolutely no ambiguity in the Constitution: Article I, Section 8 explicitly gives Congress the power to Declare War. (And to fund war, raise armies, train the military and govern it.) The President, as Commander-in-Chief, should work with the Congress and fight the war in accordance with the will of THE PEOPLE. With any luck, Congress will represent the will of the People. This Congress clearly has not, with several Maryland Congressmen voting to abdicate their warmaking authority to the President for a war their constituents remain opposed to. Any resolution which compromises Congress' warmaking ability is UCONSTITUTIONAL. The old War Powers act is, and the new one being proposed is as well. The only "War Powers Act" we need already exists--the U.S. Constitution.

The DC City Council is considering ways to re-write their gun ban in response to the Supreme Court's decision in June. According to the newspapers, Democratic Councilman Phil Mendelson is determined to ensure the law continues to require trigger locks, and that the weapons be unloaded and disassembled. It still amazes me that the leadership of this nation is not able to discern what is meant by the phrase, "shall not be infringed." My question is, "When will Congress get involved?" The Constitution grants Congress an explicit power to "exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever" over the District. Yet this power has clearly been delegated to a body who does not seek to uphold or defend the Constitution. With the Supreme Court's order in place, our Representatives and Senators in Congress should demand that DC comply with the full letter and spirit of the 2nd Amendment. MD Representatives on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform: Sarbanes (3), Cummings (7), & Van Hollen (8). MD Senators on the Senate Committee on the District of Columbia: None.
We should not limit our attention to just Maryland or just PG County. We should also be deeply concerned about the District of Columbia, which was once part of Maryland, and whose residents often settle in MD's 4th District. Their concerns, and the concerns of the nation, are our own.
June 26, 2008: Great Victory for the Constitution!
A great victory was scored today when the Supreme Court ruled to overturn D.C.'s Unconstitutional Gun Ban. This law directly infringed upon our 2nd Amendment Rights.
I will continue in my efforts to fight for government for, by, and of the People in accordance with our Constitution.
June 17 2008: Post-Election Comments
Thanks to everyone who supported and voted for me in this election.
This was a lot of hard work, late nights, and many hours in the sweltering heat, freezing snow, pouring rain, and thunderstorms! The same journey that led me to be chased by dogs, have my car rammed, and be completely ignored by Black Churches and Radio Talkshow Hosts also allowed me to meet Congressmen and Presidential Candidates and to debate my opponents in front of capacity crowds. This was a great and fulfilling experience!
I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to thousands of nice people and getting to know their greatest concerns. I found that the local issues that concerned voters were not covered by powers assigned to Congress under the Constitution of the United States. I wish that I could solve everyone's problems for them, but there are certain things the government cannot (and should not) do for the People, especially against their will. The government is not a charity. Charities obtain funds through voluntary donations. Our government obtains its funds by taking it from the People by force.
The voters have selected a candidate who will be wonderful for raising taxes, increasing the size of government, and increasing government infringement on our Constitutional Rights. Let us hope she will not serve as simply a "rubber stamp" for Obama, who seems very likely to be the next President, but who has also expressed ambiguous comments regarding his willingness to end the War and has voted against protecting the liberties of all Americans by voting to re-authorize the Patriot Act as well as for the recent "2008 Amendments to FISA," an ex-post facto law which grants Telecom Companies who assisted the Bush Administration in violating our 4th Amendment rights immunity from prosecution.
Notably, almost the same number of votes were cast in Montgomery County as PG County, although PG County holds a vastly larger number of total voters in the district.
I was glad to be a part of this exciting race for the same seat held by Henry Winter Davis (from 1855 to 1861), one of the Radicals who fought for Emancipation and keeping Maryland Free, and I wish the best of luck to future candidates who want to run for Congress in Maryland's 4th District.

Gay Marriage became legal this day in California, based on a ruling of the California Supreme Court which overturned a voter referendum in 2000 banning the practice. Kimberly Richman, a sociologist commenting on the ruling stated, "...That's why we have lawmaking at the court level. They know more." Am I the only person who sees a problem with this statement? Courts do not make laws, and legislatures cannot delegate their lawmaking authority, either to an Executive or to the Courts. This is one of the biggest problems in our government today! We must return to government by the Constitution.
